CM seeks report from RPO Sargodha

Lahore, January 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has sought a report from RPO Sargodha about the kidnapping of a child during dacoity in the precinct of PS Jauharabad in Khushab and directed safe recovery of the child along with the arrest of the criminals for legal action against them.

Khushab police recovered 14-month-old baby abducted during dacoity within 48 hours

Lahore, January 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): Khushab police recovered a 14-month-old baby boy during a dacoity and handed him over to his parents within 48 hours. Accused involved in dacoity and kidnapping were arrested from Attock. The accused had demanded a ransom of Rs 100 million from the child’s parents.

 

The Punjab Chief Minister and Inspector General of Police had taken notice of the incident two days ago and ordered RPO Sargodha and DPO Khushab to arrest the accused and recover the child. RPO Faisal Rana has been constantly supervising the case.

 

Upon this, six-member gang was also arrested after the rescue of a 14-month-old baby boy who was abducted during a dacoity due to a timely response. Police also traced evidence of connections of accused with other criminals based in foreign countries. Cases of dacoity and kidnapping for ransom have been registered.

 

According to details, Regional Police Officer DIG Muhammad Faisal Rana formed special teams for search operation on the arrest of the accused after the safe recovery of a 14-month-old child abducted during a dacoity in Hadali area of Jauharabad police station of Khushab district.

 

DPO Khushab along with his team conducted a special operation and arrested a 6-member gang who kidnapped a 14-month-old child during a dacoity and demanded a ransom of Rs 100 million. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the gang also has links with people residing in another country. The ransom money is collected in another country.

 

Praising DPO Khushab and his team, he said that the entire team would be given certificates of appreciation. He said that this is the professional policing which got success and appreciated by the public. When DPO Khushab handed over the child to his mother, emotional scenes by child mother and local people were seen for the timely response of police. The crying mother gave prayers to DPO Khushab and thanked Khushab police.

Prime Minister launches Pak-China Business Investment Forum

Islamabad, January 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): Imran Khan has launched Pak-China Business Investment Forum at a ceremony in Islamabad on Monday. Pak-China Business Investment Forum has been formed with the collaboration of Board of Investment, aimed at increasing investment in Pakistan and promotion of business to business industrial cooperation.

 

Following the participation of over seventy companies in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Conference held in March last year, it was agreed in to establish a business forum with the cooperation of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the Board of Investment to enhance business to business cooperation. The forum consists of eighteen Chinese and nineteen Pakistani companies.

IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan orders dismissal of police constable Bilal Ahmed involved in recruitment fraud

Lahore, January 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has issued an order dismissing police constable Bilal Ahmed involved in recruitment fraud. IG Punjab has also directed CCPO Lahore to take departmental and legal action against Constable Bilal Ahmed.

 

According to details, Constable Bilal Ahmed was arrested by anti-corruption team from Qila Gujar Singh Lahore. The sacked constable had extorted money from citizens in Jhelum and Lahore in exchange for a job in a government department.

 

Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that officers and officials involved in abuse of power and illegal activities do not deserve any sympathy. Due to such negative elements, Punjab Police is facing criticism. He said that such black sheep would be taken out by the police department.

IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan’s concrete steps / gradual reduction of crime in Punjab

Lahore, January 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): Strict measures are being taken on priority basis against anti-social elements in all districts of the province due to which a significant reduction in crime graph has been recorded. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that in the last four months of the year 2021, there has been a clear reduction of up to 44% in crime incidents (Crimes against Persons and Crime against Property) and Emergency 15 call record data highlighted a significant decrease in crime graph.

 

He said that it has been ensured that the cases pending in previous months, the registration of cases of these old cases in the four months from September to December has also been ensured. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that 56087 incidents of murder, attempted murder and kidnapping for ransom were reported in Punjab during September after which the call rate of such crimes started is gradually decreasing and 29479 incidents were reported in December.

 

Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that in the last four months, the number of murder, attempted murder and kidnapping for ransom cases in Punjab has come down by 48%. In Punjab, 23162 incidents of robbery, theft and dacoity were reported during September while 14819 incidents were reported in December.

 

Giving details of 15 call data in the provincial capital Lahore, the Punjab Police spokesman said that the incidents of murder, attempted murder and kidnapping for ransom have decreased by 44% in the last four months in the provincial capital Lahore.

 

He said that 13750 incidents of murder, attempted murder and kidnapping for ransom were reported in Lahore in September 2021 while 7383 incidents were reported in December. Regarding details of anti-crime property in Lahore, spokesperson of Punjab Police said that in the last four months, incidents of robbery, theft and dacoity have been reported in Lahore by 40% reduction.

 

In the provincial capital, 6,087 incidents of robbery, theft and dacoity were reported in September 2021 while 3,759 incidents were reported in December. Spokesperson Punjab Police further said that on the direction of IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, free registration of crime in Punjab is being ensured and workout rate of cases is also being improved.

 

He expressed that registration of cases is helping to eliminate organized crime. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that strict action is being taken against those who delay the registration of FIRs across the province.

CM for steps to maintain smooth flow of traffic on new year

Lahore, January 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered special arrangements to keep the traffic flowing in tourist places especially in Murree on New Year. In a statement, the CM directed that arrangements should be made to keep the traffic flowing on routes leading to Murree. Excellent traffic management should be done to facilitate the tourists, he said. He said the administration and traffic police should work out an effective traffic management plan. Citizens should not face any difficulties.

 

A system be devised to guide the citizens from time to time. Special arrangements should be made to keep the traffic flowing around Murree and other historical and recreational places, he added. He said a special traffic plan should be formulated to keep the flow of traffic in all cities. Senior police officers should supervise the traffic arrangements themselves, he added.

 

There should be best measures for traffic management in Lahore, Murree and other major cities. Tourists should not complain about parking and overcharging, he said. Parking and fixed fee boards should be prominently displayed at important places.

 

CM Usman Buzdar said the administration and traffic police made good arrangements during the recent snowfall. Murree has a capacity of 4,000 vehicles but 60,000 vehicles entered Murree during the snowfall. Administrative officers and traffic police managed to keep the traffic flowing through effective management.

 

Meanwhile, CM Usman Buzdar took note of complaints about overcharging and substandard food items in Murree and directed the administration to address the complaints of tourists. The CM directed the administration to take action against those involved in overcharging and selling substandard food items.

 

Administrative officers should take effective measures to curb overcharging and take indiscriminate action against those selling substandard food items, he added. He said fleecing the tourists by overcharging would not be tolerated under any circumstances. If any complaint of overcharging is received then action will be taken against the concerned officer, he said.

 

It was the responsibility of the administration to ensure the sale of quality food items. The sale of substandard food items in Murree should be stopped at all costs, he emphasised. Action should be taken against those responsible for the sale and overcharging of substandard food items and a report be sent to the Chief Minister’s Office, concluded the CM.

Punjab government to provide rs.4 billion for national health card program: Usman Buzdar

Lahore, January 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said a new Pakistan national health card project has been launched for the Lahore division and commented that no one would have to go to London or USA for treatment.

 

While addressing the launch ceremony at Governor House, the CM said the universal healthcare program was started from Sahiwal and DG Khan Divisions and announced to introduce the new Pakistan national health card in the whole of the province by March 2022. He declared to provide free healthcare facilities to 11.5 crore people while the Punjab government would provide Rs400 billion for the national health card program.

 

The promise of free treatment of every citizen in Punjab would be fulfilled; he added and maintained that even the developed countries are unable to give such an example. Free treatment is the right of the people as public welfare is part of the national constitution as well as the PTI’s agenda, he repeated.

 

The CM explained that other health projects would also be completed including the construction of 23 hospitals in different parts of the province. Meanwhile, 158 hospitals and health centers have been upgraded while 91 healthcare schemes would be completed through the district development package. He pointed out that the health budget was 169 billion rupees in 2013-18 while the same has swelled to 389 billion rupees now.

 

More than Rs37 billion would be spent to provide free medicines in Punjab while around 35000 jobs have been given in the health sector and the promise of one lakh jobs would also be fulfilled, he said and congratulated health minister, chief secretary and health secretaries over the launch of new Pakistan national health card.

CM pays tributes to martyred security officials

Lahore, January 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has paid tributes to four security officials who embraced martyrdom in an operation against terrorists in the Mirali area of North Waziristan. In a statement, the CM extended sympathies to the bereaved families saying that the brave sons have foiled the nefarious designs of the terrorists by sacrificing their precious lives. The CM termed the martyrs as a valuable asset of the nation who has sacrificed their lives for maintaining peace in the country.
