Prime Minister directs for completion of ongoing development projects in Balochistan

Islamabad, January 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Governor Balochistan Syed Zahoor Ahmad Agha called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad. They discussed issues relating to the development of province, especially North Balochistan. The Prime Minister directed to complete all the ongoing development projects as soon as possible to provide relief to the common man. The Prime Minister also directed to start preparations for holding local body elections in Balochistan.

PTI Government will complete its constitutional tenure without any hurdle: Babar Awan 

Islamabad, January 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Adviser to the Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government would complete its constitutional tenure without any hurdle.

Talking to a private news channel, he said when PTI came into power, all the institutions were facing worst economic condition. But due to prudent policies of the government every sector of the country was improving day by day. He said inflation is the big challenge but the government is making all-out efforts to reduce it. The adviser said as the PTI had presented its all funding sources, all political parties’ funding sources should also be opened.

Prime Minister to inaugurate Hakla-D.I. Khan motorway at a ceremony in Islamabad today 

Islamabad, January 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan motorway at a ceremony in Islamabad on Wednesday. This 293 kilometer motorway is an important component of western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Eleven interchanges, thirty six bridges, thirty three fly overs and one hundred and nineteen underpasses have been constructed on the motorway.

The areas of Dera Ismail Khan, North Punjab, South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan will emerge as a business hub as a result of the motorway which will also facilitate transportation of agriculture products to big markets.

Pakistan urges world to hold India accountable for human rights violations in IIOJK 

Islamabad, January 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that India cannot mislead the international community over its state-terrorism being perpetrated with shameless impunity in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In his message on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day, he said that Pakistan calls upon the international community to hold India accountable for the human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and play its role for peaceful and durable resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. The President said that the use of brutal force will never succeed in breaking the will of Kashmiris in their just and legitimate struggle.

Durable peace in South Asia is contingent upon peaceful resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that durable peace in South Asia is contingent upon peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with international legitimacy. In his message on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day, he said, while observing this day, we reiterate our commitment to uphold the fundamental human rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and pay homage to Kashmiris’ just struggle spanning more than seven decades.

He said that we are commemorating this day to remind the world community that it cannot abandon its moral and legal responsibilities towards the Kashmiri people. The Prime Minister said that with the presence of 900,000 troops, India has turned the occupied territory into the largest open-air prison and the most militarized zone in the world.

The Prime Minister said that India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August, 2019, and subsequent measures, particularly pertaining to domicile rules and land ownership laws, were aimed at changing the demographic structure of IIOJK and converting the Kashmiris into a minority in their own land.

United Nations must live up to its promise of granting right to self-determination to Kashmiris: FM

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the United Nations must live up to its promise of granting right to self-determination to Kashmiris. In his message on the occasion of Self-Determination Day, he said that India must allow the UN fact finding mission to the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to investigate the reports of grave human rights violations there.

He said that today marks the completion of 73 years since the United Nations committed that the Jammu and Kashmir Dispute would be decided through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite.

Info Minister urges UNSC to fulfill promise of granting Right to Self Determination to Kashmiris

Islamabad, January 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has urged the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its promise of granting Right to Self Determination to people of Kashmir. In a message on the occasion of Right to Self Determination Day today [Wednesday], he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue all-out support to the Kashmiris till realization of their due rights by the United Nations.

He said 73 years have passed since that promise was made to the Kashmiris, but unfortunately it has not been fulfilled till today. The Information Minister said a peaceful solution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions is vital to promote peace and stability in South Asia. Chaudhary Fawad Hussain expressed regret that India has turned Kashmir into a huge prison, where arresting people, detaining Hurriyat leaders and imposing curfews and sanctions has become a matter of routine.

UN lauds Pakistan for successful completion of first-ever smart card registration of Afghan refugees

Islamabad, January 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):The United Nations has appreciated Pakistan for successful completion of first-ever smart card registration of the Afghan refugees.

In a report, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that this week Pakistan completed its first-ever drive to verify data of around 1.4 million on-the-move Afghan refugees. Those who have been registered also include over two hundred thousand children under the five years of age.

The campaign, supported by UNHCR, was launched on 15th of April last year and ended on 31st of December. It was the first large-scale verification of refugees in Pakistan over the past 10 years.

Pakistan will continue supporting Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination: Munir

Islamabad, January 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram says Pakistan will continue to extend moral, political and support to the people of Kashmir till realization of their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN resolutions. In his message on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day, he said the United Nations, especially the Security Council, has an abiding responsibility to deliver its promise made with the people of Kashmir seventy-three years ago.

The ambassador said, on this day in 1949, the UN Commission for India and Pakistan adopted the historic resolution, calling for a free and impartial plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. Munir Akram said extremist Hindutva regime of India has deployed nine hundred thousand troops in occupied Kashmir, who are responsible for unleashing a brutal reign of terror in the held territory.

Secretary General, GCC Nayef bin Falah Al-Hajraf arrives in Islamabad today

Islamabad, January 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef bin Falah Al-Hajraf is arriving Islamabad today (Wednesday) on the invitation of Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi. During the visit, he will hold delegation-level talks with the Foreign Minister and also meet the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue and Prime Minister’s Advisor for Commerce and Investment.

The visit offers the two sides an opportunity to review mutual cooperation and take steps to foster enhanced collaboration in diverse fields. In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar said Pakistan and the GCC enjoy long-standing cordial relations.
