IIOJK hills receive snowfall

Srinagar, October 12, 2021 (PPI-OT): The upper reaches of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir received first snowfall of the year while rainfall occurred in plain areas. The upper reaches of Gulmarg, Uri, Rafiabad, Keran, Tangdhar, Guraz and Zojila Pass received first snowfall of the year, while rains lashed the plain areas of all districts of north Kashmir. This brought the mercury down in Kashmir valley.

“The minimum temperature was 9.8 degrees Celsius in Srinagar, 6.7 in Pahalgam and 1.5 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg. It was 5.6 in Leh and 3.1 in Drass town,” the MET Office said. Meanwhile, Jammu recorded 20.1, Katra 15.8, Batote 9.1, Banihal 8.0 and Bhaderwah 9.2 as the night’s lowest temperature.
