Islamabad, February 22, 2021 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Sabzi Mandi Police here on Monday arrested two swindlers involved in deceiving citizens on OLX and recovered mobile phones from the possession, a police spokesperson said. He said that, Syed Khurram Abbas submitted an application to Sabzi Mandi police station that he has given an ad on OLX to sell his mobile phone on which a person contacted him and purchased his mobile phone in Rs. 85,000, the currency was found counterfeit.
On his complaint police registered a case and started investigation. SP (Industrial Area) Liaqat Hayat Niazi assigned task to SDPO Khalid Mehmood Awan, SHO Sabzi Mandi Liaqat Ali with team to arrest the accused as soon as possible. Police team worked technically and arrested two accused identified as Aziz s/o Mansoor resident of house no 182 Street No. 95 Airport Society Rawalpindi and Sher Jan Ali son of Sheikh Aqil House No. 129 Street No. 8-A Defense Colony Rawalpindi. Police team also recovered two mobile phones from their possession.
During preliminary investigation the accused confessed to deceive people on OLX by giving counterfeit currency, further investigation is underway. SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer has appreciated the good performance of sabzi Mandi police team and further directed to accelerate efforts against anti-social elements.
