APHC-AJK pays homage to Kashmiri martyrs 

Islamabad, January 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, paying tributes to the martyrs of Gaw Kadal Srinagar, Handwara, Kupwara and Sopore massacres has said that India could never suppress the freedom spirit of Kashmiris through oppression.

APHC-AJK held a martyrs’ conference at its office in Islamabad, today, with the Convener, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, in the chair. Hurriyat leaders on the occasion said that Indian troops had indiscriminately opened fire in Gaw Kadal on January 21, 1990, killing 52 Kashmiris and injuring scores.

They said that Indian troops martyred 25 innocent Kashmiris on January 25, 1990 in Handwara, 65 in Sopore on January 6, 1993, and 23 in Kupwara on January 25, 1994. These tragic incidents of massacre did not weaken the spirit of Kashmiris.

The Hurriyat leaders said, these tragic incidents of massacre could not prevent the people of Kashmir from their just struggle for right to self-determination. They added that the Kashmir dispute had become the focus of global attention due to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.

The Hurriyat leaders expressed grave concern over the rising Indian state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and urged the international community to take notice of the Indian crackdown on unarmed Kashmiris. At the end of the conference, prayers were offered for the elevation of the rank of Abdul Aziz, an employee of APHC office, Islamabad.
