COVID-19 claims three more patients, infects 410 others 

Karachi, March 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):As many as three more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 8,083 and 410 new cases emerged when 9,863 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Monday. He added that three more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 8,083 that constituted 1.4 percent death rate.

Mr. Shah said that 9,863 samples were tested which detected 410 cases that constituted 4.2 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 7,971,465 tests have been conducted against which 566,169 cases were diagnosed, of them 95.2 percent or 538,825 patients have recovered, including 693 overnight. The CM said that currently 19,261 patients were under treatment, of them 19,105 were in home isolation, 7 at isolation centers and 149 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 141 patients was stated to be critical, including 10 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 410 new cases, 137 have been detected from Karachi, including 49 from Malir, 43 South, 25 East, 15 Korangi, 4 Central and one West. Hyderabad has 65, Matiari 20, Tando Muhammad Khan 19, Jamshoro 18, Sujawal 16, Ghotki and Thatta 15 each, Mirpurkhas 12, Tando Allahyar 11, Shikarpur 10, Naushero Feroze and Sanghar 9 each, Shaheed Benazirabad 8, Badin, Dadu, Jacobabad and Sukkur 7 each, Larkana and Umerkot 6 each and Tharparkar 2 and Khairpur 1.

Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 47,936,006 vaccinations have been administered upto February 28th, and added during the last 24 hours 98,149 vaccines were inoculated – in total 48,034,155 vaccines have administered which constituted 87.96 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
