Four weeks advanced training courses for police officers and personnel in order to deal with protests, vandalism, mob lynching and charged protestors continued at police training college Chung, Lahore

Lahore, January 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Under the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, training and refresher courses based on modern professional training modules are being conducted to enhance capacity of police force. The purpose of these courses is to ensure safety of life and property of the people by peacefully controlling protests, vandalism, mob lynching and charged mob.

In this regard, first anti-riots training course for supervisory officers and personnel is being conducted at Police Training College, Chung, and Lahore. Commandant Police Training College Chung Lahore, Ahmad Jamal-ur-Rehman told about four week modern training course in which 178 officers and officials from four ranges namely Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi are participating.

Officers Of different ranks i.e SSP, SPs, DSPs, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors and ASIs are included in the said training course. He said that the officers and personnel have been trained to use non-lethal weapons like tear gas gun, paintball gun, paper spray and water cannon while simultaneously Line formation, Ring formation, V formation and roof formation procedures, objectives and practical exercises are also being conducted to deal with protests.

Ahmed Jamal-ur-Rehman said that the aim of the first anti-riots training course is to better prepare the commanding role of officers and the field staff to take practical steps. Commandant Police Training College Chung Ahmad Jamal-Ur-Rehman said that in line with the vision of IG Punjab, concrete steps are being taken to enhance the capacity of police officers and personnel. Modern anti-riots techniques are also being imparted to trainees.

Moreover, Officers and personnel of all regions and districts will be given anti-riots training course in phases. He further said that enhancing the capacity of investigating officers is also among the top priorities of Punjab Police and in this regard advanced training courses for investigating officers have also been expedited in School of investigation at police training college Chung.
