Islamabad, March 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan has again highlighted the plight of women of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir at a United Nations Security Council debate on women’s rights saying that their plight should not continue to be ignored.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, addressing the UN Security Council regretted that continuing violence against women in IIOJK gets much less attention during the 15-member body’s debates.

The Pakistani envoy stressed the need for addressing in a holistic, effective and non-discriminatory manner the challenges in numerous situations of conflict where women and girls are endangered and their fundamental rights violated.
