Islamabad, January 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Senate was informed today that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mall has established Schools for Rehabilitation of Child Labour (SRCLs) to pull out the children from bounded labor and imparting them education. Responding to a question during the Question Hour in the Senate on Tuesday afternoon, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said that currently 159 (SRCLs) schools are functional all over the country.

He said that over eighteen thousand students have so far been enrolled in these schools. He said that children involved in Labour are enrolled in these schools and are imparted free education up to primary level. He said that these students are being provided free books, stationary, uniform, shoes along subsistence allowance for their parents. Leader of the House in the Senate Shahzad Wasim categorically stated that action would be taken against those responsible for the Murree tragedy.

Participating in discussion on Murree tragedy in the Senate today, he said a committee has already been constituted to probe reasons behind the tragic incident. Shahzad Wasim said the government has decided to grant Murree a status of district to improve administration and provide better facilities to tourists.

Opposition Leader in the House Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani said the government is responsible for loss of precious human lives in the Murree tragedy. He said the government could have averted that tragedy by taking timely actions. The house has now been adjourned to meet again at 10 a.m. on Friday.
