Islamabad, February 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):President Dr Arif Alvi has expressed concern over the human rights abuses by India against the minorities and particularly in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and urged the European Union to take note of the persecution of minorities by the Indian government.

Dr Arif Alvi talking to the visiting European Union Special Representative for Human Rights, Eamon Gilmore, in Islamabad said Pakistan is committed to protect and promote human rights and ensure the strict enforcement of labour laws in the country. He said that Pakistan had taken a number of legal and administrative measures to protect the rights of children and minorities. Speaking on the occasion, Eamon Gilmore appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for hosting of millions of refugees over a long period of time.
