Resolution of Kashmir dispute urged

Srinagar, February 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader Jameel Ahmad Mir has said that it is time for the two neighbouring countries, India and Pakistan, to focus on resolving the long-pending Kashmir dispute. Jameel Ahmad Mir in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Pakistan wanted lasting peace in South Asia and wanted the Kashmir dispute to be resolved according to the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people

He said that it was the responsibility of the international community to play its role in settling the Kashmir dispute for the establishment of permanent peace in the South Asian region. The APHC leader said the main cause of tension between the two nuclear powers, Pakistan and India, is the Kashmir dispute, adding that unless the Kashmir dispute was resolved, the relationship between the two countries cannot become normal.

Jameel Ahmad Mir deplored that one million forces of India were committing gross human rights violations with impunity as they enjoy protection under the black laws prevalent in the territory. Meanwhile, APHC leader Sibt Shabbir Qumi in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the authorities for allowing the opening of liquor shops across the territory to take the youth away from the ongoing freedom movement.

He said that it was unfortunate that liquor was being deliberately popularized in Muslim-majority Kashmir and urged the administration to immediately withdraw the decision and stop issuing liquor licences in the territory.
