Islamabad, December 15, 2021 (PPI-OT):Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib says the local bodies elections in the federal capital would be conducted through Electronic Voting Machines. Talking to a private television channel, he said the federal cabinet has welcomed the positive signal from Election Commission of Pakistan regarding holding of local bodies elections through the EVMs.

The State Minister said the Election Commission has full authority to open tender and select any company for procurement of the EVMs. He said the next general elections would also be held through the Electronic Voting Machines. Farrukh Habib said the usage of modern technology in the elections would ensure error-free counting after the polling.
