At least two dead as bus crashes into building in Bomono Ba Mbengue

A bus belonging to Global Voyages on Sunday, April 14, 2024, lost control and careened into a nearby house in Bomono Ba Mbengue, Littoral region, resulting in two fatalities – the driver and a passenger.

Eyewitnesses at the scene recounted a chaotic sequence of events, attributing the tragedy to a passenger’s desperate attempt to halt the bus and reclaim their fare.

According to sources, a passenger out of desperation seized control of the steering wheel, leading to the loss of control and the subsequent collision with the building.

The impact was severe, resulting in significant damage not only to the structure but also to nearby property, including a fence and goods at a neighboring hardware store.

The aftermath of the accident left residents in shock and mourning as emergency services rushed to the scene to provide assistance.

Authorities, arriving at the scene emphasized the need for increased vigilance along the N5 highway, which passes through Bomono Ba Mbengue, to prevent simila
r incidents from occurring in the future.
