India imposing lockdown, by design, to cripple economy of IIOJK people: APHC

Srinagar, January 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed anguish over the deployment of additional Indian troops to impose lockdown, by design, to destroy the economic infrastructure and education system of the territory.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar maintained that by restricting economic activities under the garb of Covid 19 pandemic the fascist Indian regime led by Narendra Modi wants to break the will of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and force them to be subservient to India for their basic needs.

The spokesman denounced the East India Company-like approach by the modern-day India to prolong its illegal occupation on Jammu and Kashmir. “The subdued people, living under the worst military siege particularly after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, face economic disaster, unemployment and a terrified atmosphere wherein life, honour and dignity is at stake.

The occupation authorities are using the Covid 19 pandemic as a double-edged sword to crush the Kashmiris as well as their legitimate movement for right to self-determination,” said the spokesman. However, he hailed the brave, intelligent and skilled people of Jammu and Kashmir for somehow managing their basic amenities despite frequent curfews, crackdowns, cordon and search operations and war-like situation.

The APHC spokesman urged the United Nations to take cognizance of the deteriorating situation of the occupied territory and prevail upon India to stop genocide, extrajudicial killings and economic blockade of the occupied territory.

Referring to the state terrorism engineered by India to suppress the freedom movement of Kashmir, said that keeping in view the gross violation of fundamental rights of the subjugated people of Kashmir, it has become mandatory for the United Nations Secretary General to implement its Security council Resolutions at the earliest in the best interests of world peace and prosperity.
