Non-state actors not to be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s efforts to boost trade ties: Asad

Islamabad, February 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser says non-state actors will not be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s efforts to boost trade and ties in the region. He was chairing a meeting of the Executive Committee of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentary Friendship Group that was held at National Assembly, Islamabad on Monday.

The Speaker called for boosting trade ties and linkages with neighbouring countries without compromising national security. The Executive Committee was briefed by National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf, on the progress being made in resolving trade issues with Afghanistan under the Afghanistan Inter-Ministerial Cell.

The National Security Adviser said that in less than six months, more than 200 trade issues have been resolved and the two sides are cooperating fully to resolve all trade issues amicably. Apart from proposing barter trade with Afghanistan, visa facilitation and creating conducive environment for investment, other issues related to trade and connectivity were also discussed. The meeting was attended by members of the Executive Committee of the Pak-Afghan Friendship Group and representatives of all relevant ministries and agencies.
