BOI Leadership calls on President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi

To resolve public grievances; our top priority: IGP 

Islamabad, March 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):Islamabad Police is committed to resolve public grievances on priority and to protect the lives and property of the citizens. It was stated by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas while listening issues and grievances of public as well as retired and serving officials during khuli kacheri held at Central Police Office on Friday.

The IGP strictly directed all zonal officers to listen to public complaints and resolve them purely on merit. “No laxity would be tolerated in this regard” he maintained. During the khuli kacheri, Islamabad Police chief listened to the grievances of the citizens and marked their applications to the concerned officers for timely action on merit. He also directed them to send reports to his offices in the given time frame.

Muhammad Ahsan Younas emphasized that Islamabad police would not leave any stone unturned to save the lives and property of the citizens adding that Islamabad police is taking many steps to facilitate public. The IGP directed all the police officials to adopt courteous attitude with the complainants visiting police stations and accomplish their responsibilities in a professional manner.

Pak-Australia cricket series: fool proof security arrangements be ensured in Rawalpindi and Lahore: IG Punjab

Lahore, March 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has directed that best security arrangements be ensured for the matches of Pak-Australia Cricket Series in Rawalpindi and Lahore using all available resources. IG Punjab directed that steps should be taken under a comprehensive strategy for the security and convenience of all the players and match officials as well as the cricket fans.

Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that an effective traffic management plan should be formulated for the uninterrupted flow of traffic in the vicinity of the hotel and the stadium and for convenience of citizens so that the common man face least difficulty.

IG Punjab said that the supervisory officers should regularly go out in the field and monitor the security and traffic arrangements and also give effective briefing to the personnel on security duty so that they can perform their duties efficiently.

Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that holding of international cricket matches in Pakistan is very welcoming step and Punjab Police will ensure best security arrangements. IG Punjab issued these instructions while presiding over a high-level meeting along with Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal during their visit to Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

During the meeting, RPO Rawalpindi Ashfaq Ahmad Khan and CPO Rawalpindi Omar Saeed Malik briefed IG Punjab and Chief Secretary Punjab about security arrangements for the matches. IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan and Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal reviewed the arrangements for peaceful conduct of cricket matches and issued necessary orders.

IG Punjab directed that best arrangements should be made for effective coordination with the concerned agencies at the time of movement of teams and entry and exit of spectators in the stadium. On the occasion, CPO Rawalpindi Omar Saeed Malik briefed that 4500 personnel are being deployed for security and traffic arrangements at stadium and routes. He briefed that police teams are working diligently for security and guidance of citizens.

In the first two months of this year, 8315 cases were registered against drug dealers across the province while 8510 accused were arrested

Lahore, March 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that intelligence-based operations should be intensified in all districts of the province to eradicate the menace of drugs and arrest the culprits involved in this heinous business.

He stressed upon quick arrest of accused and severe punishment. IG Punjab directed that operations should be fast-tracked to save the youth from drug menace across the province wreak massive crackdown on sale and use of modern narcotic drugs such as sheesha, meth (ice), marijuana, heroin and alcohol.

Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that the use of drugs in educational institutions and hostels should be stopped and action against those involved in the abominable smuggling should be intensified. He emphasised upon RPOs, DPOs to take strict action against organized groups of drug dealers.

IG Punjab said that an awareness campaign is being launched in public and private educational institutions in collaboration with the Department of Schools and Higher Education to create awareness against drugs. He expressed that the role of parents, civil society, teachers and religious scholars is of great importance to fight against this social evil.

Giving details of operations against drug dealers this year, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that during the first two months of this year, 8315 cases were registered against smugglers and dealers involved in drug supply chain across province and 8510 accused were arrested.

In this regard, 9980 kg of hashish, 228 kg of heroin, 1677.17 grams of meth (ice) and 105062 liters of liquor were recovered from possession of accused. Spokesperson of Punjab Police further said that 1327 cases were registered against drug dealers in Lahore and 1351 persons were arrested and 5201 kg of hashish, 133 kg of heroin, 773 grams of meth (ice) and 10292 liters of liquor were recovered from possession of arrested persons.

Spokesperson for Punjab Police said that 574 cases were registered against drug dealers in Sheikhupura region and 579 persons were arrested while 369 kgs of hashish, 14 kgs of heroin, 500 Gms of Meth (ice) and 7383 liters alcohol were seized from the arrested persons.

Similarly, In Gujranwala, 1180 cases were registered against drug dealers and 1207 persons were arrested while 1913 kgs of hashish, 22 kgs of heroin, 2.012 gms of Meth (ice) and 7383 liters of liquor were recovered from possession of arrested persons.

In Rawalpindi region, 849 cases were registered against drug dealers and 870 persons were arrested while 476 kgs of hashish, 11 kgs of heroin, 0.545 Gms of meth (ice) and 5293 liters of liquor were recovered from possession of arrested persons. In Sargodha region, 323 cases were registered against drug dealers and 341 persons were arrested while 208 kg of hashish, 25 kg of heroin and 9196 liters of liquor were recovered from possession of arrested persons.

In Faisalabad region 1017 cases were registered against drug dealers and 1020 persons were arrested while 516 grams of hashish, 6 kg of heroin, 6 grams of meth (ice) and 5836 liters of liquor were recovered from possession of arrested persons in Faisalabad region.

In Multan region 1239 cases were registered against drug dealers and 1250 persons were arrested while 632 kgs of hashish, 13 kgs of heroin, 160 gms of meth (ice) and 20780 liters of liquor were recovered from possession of arrested persons. In Sahiwal region, 569 cases were registered against drug dealers and 586 persons were arrested while 223 kg of hashish, 4 kg of heroin and 7401 liters of liquor were recovered from their possession.

In DG Khan Region, 570 cases were registered against drug dealers and 577 persons were arrested while 300 kgs of hashish, 235 Gms of meth (ice) and 9697 liters of liquor were recovered from possession of arrested persons. In Bahawalpur region, 667 cases were registered against drug dealers and 729 persons were arrested while 142 kgs of hashish, 0.61 Gms of meth (ice) and 21701 liters of liquor were recovered from possession of arrested persons. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that the operations for eradication of drugs on priority basis would continue in future also.

Mysterious murder of young Talha solved in Sialkot, friend turned out to be killer, killer arrested 

Lahore, March 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):Sialkot Police has solved the mystery of blind murder of 12 year old Talha in 24 hours. CM Punjab Usman Ahmad Khan Buzdar and IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan had taken notice of the incident and directed RPO Gujranwala to arrest the accused at the earliest.

According to details, the body of 12-year-old Talha was found in the area of Sialkot Sabz Pir police station yesterday. DPO Sialkot Muhammad Hassan Iqbal has formed a special team under supervision of SP investigation Sialkot Farooq Amjad to resolve this mysterious murder. Police team traced out the case within 24 hours and rounded up the accused.

The accused Abdullah son of Nawazish resident of Jamal Jand was a friend of Talha. The accused strangled Talha to death after sodomy. During the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to his crime. DPO Sialkot praised and announced to give appreciation letters to the police team for tracing and arresting the accused with help of scientific basis within 24 hours. He further said that timely delivery of justice to the affected family would be ensured in all cases and the accused would be punished while fulfilling the legal requirements.

United States Renews Lincoln Corner Partnership with Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar 

Peshawar, March 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):United States Consul General Richard H. Riley and the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) Joint Director, Dr. Usman Ghani, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to renew the partnership of overseeing the Lincoln Corner Peshawar (LCP) for another two years from March 2022 to March 2024. The representatives signed the MOU during a virtual ceremony in the presence of students, faculty, and diplomats from the U.S. Mission to Pakistan.

Established in 2014, LCP is a partnership between the U.S. Consulate General Peshawar and IMSciences. “The Lincoln Corner Peshawar partnership is aimed at improving educational standards and access to international resources for the youth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, enabling them to gain skills and confidence by taking part in different skill development programs,” said Consul General Riley.
