Islamabad, January 01, 2022 (PPI-OT): President Dr Arif Alvi says the government is taking concrete measures to protect rights of minorities and promote religious tourism in the country. Talking to a delegation of minorities led by MNA Lal Chand Malhi in Karachi today [Thursday], he said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah always raised voice for the rights of all minorities irrespective of their creed and religion. Dr Arif Alvi also lauded the role being played by the minorities for the development the country.

Government is taking all measures for the protection of minorities’ rights in Pakistan: President Arif Alvi

Islamabad, January 01, 2022 (PPI-OT): The President Dr Arif Alvi has said that the government is taking all measures for the protection of minorities’ rights in Pakistan. Unlike India, minorities in Pakistan enjoy more rights and representation, said the President while talking to a delegation of minorities led by Nand Lal Malhi MNA at Governor’s House, Karachi, today. Dr. Alvi said that Sindh had been manifesting religious harmony and tolerance throughout the history.

Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah always spoke for the equal rights of all citizens in Pakistan irrespective of their creed and religion, he said. The government is taking host of initiatives to promote religious tourism likewise it is necessary to promote it in Tharparkar, Umerkot and Thatta where Bhudha and Hindu historic and religious sites are situated, the President told the delegation. He also admired the role played by the minorities in the development of Pakistan.

PM urges scholars to educate youth about teachings of Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] for success in life

Islamabad, January 01, 2022 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the Islamic scholars to play their due role in enlightening the Muslim youth about the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatim UN Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe WA Ala Alayhee WA Ashabehi Wassalam for success in this life and the hereafter.

He was speaking in an online dialogue with global Muslim scholars, organized by National Rehmatul Lil Alameen Authority on “Riyasat-e-Madina, Islam, Society and Ethical Revival.” The Prime Minister said success lies in following the teachings and footsteps of Hazrat Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatim UN Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe WA Ala Alayhee WA Ashabehi Wassalam.

The Prime Minister said justice and rule of law provide the base to a civilized society in the world. He said only the nations that have rule of law can survive and flourish. The Prime Minister said Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatim UN Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe WA Ala Alayhee WA Ashabehi Wassalam raised the level of ethics and morality of the society to make Muslims a great nation.

He said a society that does not have any moral standards and ethics cannot provide justice to its people. He said several nations were destroyed in the past because of discrimination between powerful and weak segments of their societies. Prominent scholars from the Muslim world attended the program, which was aimed at providing awareness among the younger generation about the Seerat of the Holy Prophet Rasool Allah Khatim UN Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe WA Ala Alayhee WA Ashabehi Wassalam.

Pakistan records 32% growth in exports to Canada

Islamabad, January 01, 2022 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s bilateral and political relations with Canada are healthy and cordial which are impacting positively on our bilateral trade relations which have seen a healthy 32 percent growth in our exports to Canada in the first 9 months of the calendar year 2021, says a press release received here today from Canada.

This was said during an online public forum-cum-katchehry arranged by Pakistan High Commission in Canada and hosted by Consul General of Pakistan Toronto Mr. Abdul Hameed here in Canada on the last day of the year 2021. Pakistan’s Chargé d’affaires in Canada Mr. Shahbaz Malik, Consul General of Pakistan Vancouver Mr. Janbaz Khan and Consul General of Montreal Mr. Ishtiak Ahmed Akil also addressed the online forum.

Addressing the forum, Mr. Abdul Hameed prayed for a continued welfare of the Pakistani expatriates in Canada and North America in the year 2022, and assured them full cooperation and assistance in prompt provision of consular services.

He also highlighted the diplomatic, political, educational and commercial engagements and exchanges between Pakistan and Canada which culminated in recent visit by Deputy Foreign Minister of Canada to Pakistan to attend the 4th round of bilateral talks between both the countries.

He said the promotion of bilateral educational linkages and educational opportunities for Pakistani students in Canada had also been given a renewed impetus in recent months, and already in the past 40 days two well-attended webinars had been arranged to discuss and explore avenues for furthering exchanges and cooperation in the field of education.

During the online forum, various issues were highlighted and addressed, including voting of overseas Pakistanis in the general election 2023, issues related to power of attorney for transfer of land in Pakistan, encashment of saving certificates by overseas Pakistanis, employees old-age benefits of former government employees residing abroad, uploading of biometrics for issuance of succession certificates, COVID-19 protocol for those travelling to Pakistan, range of profits available under National Saving prize bonds, renewal of driving licences issued in Pakistan to Pakistanis now living abroad, online facility for new passports for minors and modification of data in passports for overseas Pakistanis in western Canada and getting documents ready for travel to Pakistan in COVID-19 pandemic.

Rs 34 billion will be transferred to provinces from new Finance Bill: Farrukh

Islamabad, January 01, 2022 (PPI-OT): State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said that the government imposed track and trace taxation system on cigarette sector that already had imposed on the sugar sector. Talking to a private news channel, the minister said that 34 billion rupees would be transferred to the provinces as per 18th amendments from the new tax collection finance bill. The minister said that now various sectors were not registered on tax system but the government wanted to document all these sector to collect the tax in future.

He said the dynamic leadership of Prime Minster Imran Khan has set the various example for the other rulers including health card for low-income segments of the society, Ehsaas Ration card, construction of around 10 new universities in the different parts of the country, direct power system at local body election first time introduce by this regime

Lord Daniel Hannan of UK calls on Prime Minister Imran Khan

Lord Hannan praised the Prime Minister’s vision for a Green Pakistan that includes 10 billion trees tsunami program, wildlife conservation measures, national parks and environmental protection initiatives. Sikh girl receives 1st Peace Achievers and Leadership Award in Pakistan

Rawalpindi, January 01, 2022 (PPI-OT): The ceremony of 1st Peace Achievers and Leadership Award 2021 was organized at Punjab Arts Council, Rawalpindi, turned out to be the super hit show as it was a well-attended event and galaxies belonging to different walks of life graced this event with their presence.

Ahmad Raza Khan Kirmani, CEO of School of Peace and Leadership Studies, delivered the welcome address. He welcomed the chief guest, guests of honour, special guests and the awardees participation from all over Pakistan. He said, he has taken the initiative of School of Peace and Leadership Studies since 2019 with the aim to acknowledge, appreciate the talent, achievements and excellence in performance in peace building social welfare and interfaith harmony, human rights activities as well.

Two PDP leaders arrested in IIOJK

Srinagar, January 01, 2022 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the People’s Democratic Party youth leaders, Arif Laigaroo and Najim-u-Saqib have been arrested, today, following a protest march by the party against the delimitation draft. According to Kashmir Media Service, reports said that Arif Laigaroo has been shifted to Shergari police station and Najim-u-Saqib has been lodged at police station, Ram Munshi Bagh, Srinagar.
