Rehmani pays tributes to martyrs of Gawkadal, others during last 31 years

Islamabad, January 20, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has paid rich tribute to the victims of Gaw Kadal massacre and all other Kashmiri martyrs. Indian troops had killed more than 50 innocent people by resorting to indiscriminate firing on peaceful demonstrators in Gaw Kadal area of Srinagar on January 21 in 1990. The demonstrators were protesting against the molestation of several women by troops, the previous night.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad called for bringing to book the killer regime of India under the international humanitarian law. He said that Gaw Kadal was the beginning of an unimaginable episode and one after another massacres were designed by the Indian agencies in 1990s. Another dark aspect of all such blind killings by the Indian forces, he lamented, is that no impartial investigation was conducted and no criminal in uniform was tried or sentenced ever.”

The APHC-AJK Convener deplored that the question of Kashmir’s freedom had long been kept under carpet and the international community and economic powers were criminally mum. He added that economic prowess was being managed and manipulated without giving the oppressed people of Kashmir and Palestine and other subjugated regions their economic and political rights to shape their future and develop their own resources.

He emphasised duly independent role of the Kashmiris in the international and regional talks as basic and aggrieved stakeholder in the final resolution of the Kashmir dispute as the people of Kashmir believe that the 74 years old dispute was not a mere territorial question which could not be settled without recognition of the Kashmiris’ participation in all talks between India and Pakistan.

Indian troops perpetrating war crimes in IIOJK

Islamabad, January 20, 2022 (PPI-OT):Indian atrocities in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) can well be defined as war crimes as per international law as the Kashmiris continue to suffer under brutal Indian occupation. Indian troops enjoying unbridled powers under draconian laws are continuously perpetrating war crimes and violating the international laws in the territory with impunity. Modi and his cohorts are responsible for war crimes against the Kashmiris, it said.

The report maintained that an international law firm, Stoke White, has said that Indian authorities are perpetrating war crimes and asked the UK police to nab the Indian army chief and Home Minister over their roles in war crimes in the occupied territory.

The report said that Indian troops should be prosecuted for committing the worst human rights violations in IIOJK and Indian atrocities in occupied territory must be pursued as war crimes. Indian troops are responsible for torture, kidnapping and killing of rights activists, journalists and civilians in the territory, it said.

The report said Indian war crimes have been documented by the international human rights organizations. It said, “Even the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in its two reports released in 2018 and 2019 has called for independent investigations into serious human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir.”

It said the time has come to hold Modi regime accountable for its crimes against humanity in Kashmir and the UN must put sanctions on India for violating the international laws in IIOJK. The report said the world must not remain a silent spectator on Indian war crimes in IIOJK, adding that the global powers must stop India from perpetrating war crimes and Modi and his aides must be brought to justice by initiating proceeding against them in the international criminal court.
