BJP trying to stir communal tension: RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary

Lucknow, January 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) President, Jayant Chaudhary, has said that Bharatiya Janata Party’s Amit Shah is trying to create communal tension and that he would never join the saffron party. Jayant Chaudhary in a media interview mocked Amit Shah’s “open doors” invitation, saying that it was only a tactic to isolate Jats in Uttar Pradesh. Amit Shah on Wednesday, while reaching out to Jat leaders, had said that Jayant Chaudhary had “chosen the wrong home” and hinted that the doors were open for him in the BJP.

Chaudhary had earlier mocked Shah, saying that his invitation should go to the 700 farmer families whose home had been destroyed. Chaudhary said: “The comment was intended to prevent me from getting Muslim votes by creating a perception that I may join the BJP after the assembly election. So, they would vote for Bahujan Samaj Party or the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. This would only divide Muslim votes.” The RLD has allied with the Samajwadi Party for the UP polls.

“Amit Shah also wants to isolate the Jats in UP as he has done in Haryana. But I won’t let it happen. I will give it in writing. Not just after the UP polls, I shall never join the BJP. My party will be finished if I ever tie up with BJP,” he added.
