The public transport scheme should have been finalized after proper study. Around billion of rupees were being given to six projects as subsidies including orange line metro train, metro bus system and feeder route system, he further said and pointed out the income of these projects was minimal. The public representatives would be empowered and the government will perform well in Punjab, he said. To a question, the CM maintained that the volume of work done by Education Minister Murad Raas in his department in just three years was not done during the last 70 years.

Murad Raas has introduced important changes like e-transfer, e-leave and e-pension while upgrading 1500 schools. 8000 schools will be upgraded this financial year while a total of 27 thousand schools would be upgraded in the next two years, he said.

Meanwhile, the past government only upgraded 1500 schools in a period of five years, he held. Lahore Techno polis was being established in Lahore over 790 acres of land to provide international quality technology, research-based education and high-tech manufacturing opportunities to the students, he said.

This project would enjoy all incentives under the special technology zone act along with a tax remission for a period of ten years. The CM pointed out that the past government wasted two billion over the knowledge park project without any delivery or performance.

To a question about Nawaz Sharif, the CM explained that anybody could come or go while the law would take its own course and everything would be done in accordance with the law. The allies are with us and nobody should be worried as everything is okay, he added and announced that the journey of development would be accelerated under the leadership of PM Imran Khan.

Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood regretted that loot and plunder was the norm of the day in the past while CM Usman Buzdar has introduced the culture of transparency and development and his development projects are bringing ease in the lives of the common man as Usman Buzdar was serving the masses with sincerity and commitment. Provincial Minister Murad Raas thanked the CM for resolving public problems. DG LDA also spoke on the occasion.

He added that these tests will be free of cost while a same day report will also be provided which will be helpful to the citizens. Principal PGMI expressed these views while visiting the Central Research Lab of LGH where MS Dr. Amir Ghafoor Mufti, Director Central Research Lab Dr. Ghazala Ruby, Dr. Abdul Aziz and others were present.

Prof. Al-freed appreciated the professional dedication and hard work of the staff of CRL and said that corona is a highly contagious virus which can be transmitted to another person immediately but the staff of CRL did not care about their own lives and continued their services in all circumstances.

He pointed out that so far 137600 tests of Covid-19 have been done free of cost in General Hospital and now omicron testing facility has also been initiated which would be another feather in the cap. He claimed that Rs. 894,400,000 have to be spent by the people on such a number of corona tests in private labs while not a single penny has been charged by LGH according to the Punjab health policy.

Principal PGMI further said that in the light of orders of the Government and Specialized Healthcare Department the facility of diagnosis of omicron will also be provided at hospital free of cost as it has been declared the world’s most dangerous and rapidly spreading virus, so people should once again strictly adhere to the SOPs to protect themselves from this deadly disease.

Medical Superintendent Dr. Amir said that experts have advised people who have been taken both doses of Corona vaccine not to forget to get booster dose, especially those who are already suffering from various diseases or especially old age citizens and they have to take special precautions in this regard.

Talking to the media, Prof. Al-freed said that for the last two years, a massive awareness campaign has been launched through media and information about corona has reached everyone. Therefore, it is the duty of the citizens by understanding their national responsibility to wear face masks and take care of social distances, avoid crowded places and to avoid touching each other, he added. Pakistan has significant achievement in dealing with Covid-19 and we would again maintain this success by tackling omicron in a more befitting manner, Prof. Al-freed concluded.
