7th phase of Khalistan referendum taking place in 4 gurdwaras in UK today

London, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):The seventh phase of Khalistan referendum is taking place in four different gurdwaras in UK, today. The gurdwaras where referendum is taking place included Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Hounslow, Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Slough, Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Waynesfield and Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Smethwick.

Thousands of Sikhs participated in different phases of referendum in UK and Geneva for an independent Sikh homeland. Sikh leaders said that India was trying to suppress Sikh liberation movement through inhumane tactics. They said, huge participation of Sikhs in a referendum for their homeland has unnerved India.

The UK has allowed Khalistan referendum despite hectic diplomatic efforts by India to stop the exercise. Perplexed by resolve of Sikh Diaspora, India is trying to use the bogey of false flag operations to malign Sikhs indigenous movement. Indian political leadership has build-up case against ‘Sikh for Justice’ (SFJ) and other pro-Khalistan set-ups abroad.

As witnessed in Ludhiana blast, Modi-led fascist Indian government blamed SFJ for its involvement in the blast. Jaswinder Singh Multani has been accused in the blast, whereas, denying involvement in the blast, he said that his fight was one with the “pen”, not “weapons.”

He further said that Indian authorities were trying to defame him and SFJ. It is understood that the India is trying its best to get the SFJ leaders and activists recognized by the western countries as “terrorists”, he deplored. The SFJ has submitted a report, “India’s criminalization of Khalistan Referendum”, to the office of UN High Commissioner for HR in a special meeting and informed UN officials that Modi’s Hindu supremacist government is distorting their culture and history, he added.

Jaswinder Singh Multani said, Modi government is using social media platforms to push hyper Indian nationalism and to suppress the Khalistan referendum campaign by blocking the content and posts advocating for the liberation of Punjab from India through means of ballot.

Bajrang Dal men disrupt Christmas event in Karnataka

Tumakuru, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):Days after Hindutva vigilantes attacked a Christmas celebration in Indian state of Karnataka’s Tumakuru, a complaint has been filed against five local Bajrang Dal members for intimidation and assault by the accused. The accused men are yet to be booked.

Women of a Dalit household in Tumakuru had warded off an attack by a group of Hindutva vigilantes who barged into their house while they were holding a Christmas gathering on Tuesday. The incident took place in Bilidevalaya village in Tumakuru’s Kunigal taluk earlier this week.

Ramu Bajarangi, a Bajrang Dal leader from Kunigal district in Tumakuru, told media that a gram panchayat member in the village had noticed that a family had begun holding Christian prayers in their residence in the last one month.

A group of men from the Hindutva outfit had subsequently paid a visit to the family’s house, questioning them about their religious practices. The mob of men had also asked the women in the house why they were not wearing sindoor. The women had told the intruders that they were Hindus but practised Christian beliefs, as per media. After an altercation broke out between the two parties, the police had reached the spot.

“Police reached the spot immediately when we got a call and we spoke to both groups. The family was celebrating Christmas but few men have gone there and disrupted it. It was only an argument and there was no violence. We have not registered a case over this,” police inspector Raju P had been quoted as saying by media.

A BSF official said, “More BSF personnel have been deployed in the RS Pura sector of Jammu due to foggy weather conditions in winters.” The Indian BSF is also equipped with the latest night vision cameras, which help them keep an eye on the area of manual patrolling.

Muslim majority status of IIOJK under serious threat

Islamabad, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Muslim majority status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is under serious threat owing to fascist Modi-led Indian government’s Hindutva policies being implemented in the territory one after another.

A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said that introducing new domicile law, transferring more land to occupational troops, re-drawing assembly constituencies, and allotting land to Hindutva-backed business tycoons were all meant to change the demographic composition in IIOJK. The real motive behind revocation of Article 370 was to settle non-Kashmiris in the occupied territory, it maintained.

The report said that the Kashmiri people must resist India’s plans to change demography of the territory as the Indian nefarious design is also a flagrant violation of the UN resolutions on Kashmir. It said that the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has also urged the people of IIOJK to lodge forceful protest against Modi’s assault on IIOJK’s demography.

The report further said, that delimitation of assembly constituencies is also meant to give more seats to Hindu majority Jammu region to install a Hindu Chief Minister in the territory. It said, new domicile law for the occupied territory is a reflection of Israeli settler colonial project and opening IIOJK to Indian business companies is aimed at snatching the Kashmiris’ land and identity. It lamented that the Kashmiris were deprived of jobs and other opportunities in their own land as Modi is follower of a Hindu-supremacy ideology.

The report said, the Kashmiri people will never allow BJP-RSS to snatch away their identity, urging the international community to take notice of Modi’s sinister plans in IIOJK and stop India from altering demography of the territory.

IIOJK authorities impose restrictions to prevent March in Srinagar

Srinagar, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities imposed strict restrictions in downtown area of Srinagar, today, to prevent people from conducting a march towards city’s historic Jamia Masjid.

Call for the march was given by the illegally detained Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Masarrat Aalam Butt, to register protest against the disallowing of Juma prayers at the Jamia Masjid for the last one year. The march was also aimed at lodging a forceful protest against Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government’s latest assault on the IIOJK’s demography that has put the land and resources of the territory on sale for the non-locals.

The occupation authorities imposed restrictions by deploying Indian troops and police personnel in strength in downtown and sealing all roads leading to the historic mosque. The authorities once again disallowed the people to offer Juma prayers at the Jamia Masjid, today, for the 21st consecutive week.

Genocide call assault on Constitution: Rights Groups Press for Action

New Delhi, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):Even as outrage over genocide calls made at Haridwar’s Dharm Sansad against Muslims continues unabated, two civil rights groups, National Confederation of Human Rights Organizations (NCHRO) and All India Lawyers Association for Justice (AILAJ), demanded immediate action against the Hindutva hardliners who spewed venom against the minority community.

The National Confederation of Human Rights Organizations (NCHRO) squarely held Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami responsible in the matter for allowing such an event in his state. “The Chief Minister of the State must also be answerable for this event of hate and bigotry while he is in office. We call upon all justice loving individuals and organisations to come together and stand against the politics of hatred and bigotry,” said NCHRO chairperson A. Marx in a statement.

Meanwhile, no arrest has been made in the case so far. The Uttarakhand police though registered an FIR against some of the hate mongers, not before a massive outrage against the culprits. Marx said if not for the pro-Hindutva Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state, the event would not have taken place. In fact, the right-wing Hindutva outfits, he said are emboldened by the government’s leniency towards them.

“It is clear that such events are held openly with mala fide intent to vitiate inter-community relationship taking advantage of the atmosphere of anti-Muslim hatred as well as hatred in general has been created. The antisocial elements seem to have been patronised by the right-wing Hindutva government in power. As a result of this, there has been a sharp rise in the physical assaults on the members of minority groups in the recent past,” he said.

Pointing to the increase in hate crimes, he said “this event didn’t occur all of a sudden. Assaults on minority groups are part of the project of the hate politics.” Meanwhile, another civil rights group, All India Lawyers’ Association for Justice (AILAJ) filed a complaint with the Uttarakhand Police, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and National Commission for Minorities (NCM) demanding immediate action against the organisers of the event and the speakers and a ban on the organisation involved in holding the event.

“We demand immediate action against the organisers of the event and arrest of the hate speakers. We want the state and Central governments to take suo moto cognisance of the incident and take immediate steps to ensure that the organisations behind it are pre-emptively banned in accordance with the Guidelines on Communal Harmony,” said Maitreyi Krishnan, National Co-Convenor of the AILAJ, in his complaint.

Commenting on the event, Krishnan said, “This hate assembly, where an open call for genocide of the Muslim community is given, poses a grave threat to the rule of law and all the democratic values enshrined in our constitution. It may be noted here that a call for extermination of a community, their ostracism, economic or social boycott, and incitement to violence as a “solution” are all markers of genocide. This is evident from the spate of violence against the Muslim community in the recent past.”

Drawing attention towards the arrest of several activists like Umar Khalid on stringent charges under the draconian Unlawful Activities Prevention Act for the speeches they gave in support of democracy and the constitution, the AILAJ questioned the police inaction against the Haridwar hate mongers who challenged the constitution.
