Dalit man’s home attacked after riding horse on wedding day in MP

Bhopal, January 25, 2022 (PPI-OT: Hindu extremists attacked the home of a Dalit bridegroom in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh after he took out a wedding procession on horseback. A Dalit groom was riding a horse for the first time in Ganiyari, a village dominated by upper caste Lodhi Thakur community in Sagar district of the state. The house was attacked on Sunday night, Indian Express reported.

To prevent an attack on the wedding party, the groom, Dilip Ahirwar, 27, sought protection from police and Bhim Army. Almost five hours after the wedding procession left, family members said, members of the Lodhi Thakur community attacked the bridegroom’s home by pelting stones. They also reportedly assaulted the family members.

“Minutes after a power outage around 8.30 pm, a group of more than 100 men, carrying sticks, barged inside our house and attacked everyone, including women,” Permod Ahirwar, 25, who said that he received an injury on hand in the attack. “They did not spare even a 60-year-old woman.”

Permod said that the assailants damaged a car parked outside the house, “and also vandalised the canopy (mandap)”. The police said a clash broke out between two families over electric wires. “A few members of the Thakur community objected to the crossing of wires from their area and attacked Dilip Ahirwar’s home in an inebriated state,” Town inspector, Bunda police station, Manas Dwivedi, said.

Devendra Ahirwar (55), groom’s father, alleged that on Monday members of upper caste community “again threatened us”. “No other man from Ahirwar community will ride a horse again,” Devendra said the upper caste members allegedly told him.

Message by the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion of International Customs Day (26th January, 2022)

Islamabad, January 25, 2022 (PPI-OT): I am pleased to know that International Customs Day 2022 is being commemorated. On this occasion, I felicitate Pakistan Customs on their contribution in trade facilitation, revenue collection and safeguarding the country’s borders against smuggling and illicit trafficking.

Our government has initiated and is implementing paperless E-system to ensure transparency and collection of authentic data. It is a matter of satisfaction to note that Pakistan Customs has been able to generate useful data regarding trade transactions which is not only being utilized by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in revenue analysis and audits but also by many other government organizations for policy making. Besides, the launch of Track and Trace system by FBR will digitise the economy and boost additional revenues.

This year’s International Customs Day theme “Scaling up Customs Digital Transformation by embracing a Data Culture and Building a Data Ecosystem” emphasizes the need for Pakistan Customs to further strengthen and develop data analytics. It will enable the Government to effectively manage and process the trade and seizures data to upgrade Risk Management System for better trade facilitation and strict enforcement.

Our government achieved record tax collection and it was possible by employing e-filling for ease of tax-payers. Moreover, under the policy of “Ease-of-doing-business”, the Government is facilitating investors through one-window by utilizing online portals.

It is, therefore, imperative to adopt digital technologies for the benefit and welfare of people. I hope that in this financial year Pakistan Customs will keep on performing with greater zeal, utmost professionalism, and integrity in supporting government’s vision of a prosperous Pakistan.

India may carry out false flag operation on Indian Republic Day, to malign Pakistan, Sikhs

Islamabad, January 25, 2022 (PPI-OT): Indian intelligence agencies at the behest of ruling Hindutva government in India are planning a false flag operation on the Republic Day celebrations of the country to malign Pakistan, Muslims and Sikhs.

The so-called security alert has been raised by Indian security agencies wherein they have issued a warning about a possible attack on bigwigs attending the Republic Day, tomorrow, on January 26, revealed KMS in its report.

The nine-page so-called intelligence report released by the Indian spy agencies has described as a threat to PM Narendra Modi and celebrities attending India’s Republic Day celebrations is, in fact, the New Delhi’s well-orchestrated plan to carry out a Pulwama like drama to unleash malicious propaganda against Pakistan, Muslims and Sikhs.

Besides Muslim organizations, the Indian intelligence agencies are blaming Khalistani groups for mobilizing cadres to plan “terror” and targeted attacks in Punjab and other Indian states. Indian agencies could themselves target the public gatherings, important institutions and crowded areas even with drone strikes to carry forward the hateful agenda against Muslims and Sikhs inside India and Pakistan outside, the report cautioned.

In a bid to give a realistic touch to the so-called alert, the Modi regime cancelled leave of police personnel. An order issued by the Delhi Police said, ‘In view of Republic Day Parade arrangements, all kinds of leave to all ranks is henceforth stopped until further notice, unless in emergent medical conditions’. In the order, it is further stated that all senior ranks are directed to achieve maximum staff mobilisation for Republic Day Parade obligations. Experts believe that the BJP regime may orchestrate a drama during the Republic Day celebrations for multiple purposes.
