Islamabad, January 14, 2022 (PPI-OT): Minister for Science and Technology, Shibli Faraz says Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership is sincerely working for public interest. Talking to private news channel, he said the majority people are behind the policies of Prime Minister Imran Khan who wanted to make progress in every sector of this country. He said, we have passed the finance bill without facing any trouble from the opposition benches. He said that opposition party leaders have no interest with public welfare projects.

IIOJK authorities put Kashmir Press Club re-registration on hold

Srinagar, January 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have put the re-registration of Kashmir Press Club (KPC) – the premier representative body of the journalist in Kashmir – into abeyance following directions from Srinagar district authorities on Friday.

The management body of the KPC on Thursday via a statement to media informed that the re-registration under Society Registration Act 1860 has been completed and said the election would be held on 15 February 2022 to form a new representative body.

The elections of the KPC were due in July 2021 as the term of the previous executive committee ended on July 14 after completing its two-year term. The KPC has since then been without a representative body. The re-registration of the club was granted by the Registrar of Societies and Firms on 29 December 2021 that had cleared the way for elections to form a new representative body.

On Friday an order from the Registrar of societies ordered that re-registration granted under number 7427 – S of 2021 is hereby kept in abeyance till the receipt of the final report from Additional District Magistrate Srinagar. The order has come as a surprise for many journalists in the region as the decision may result in keeping the club without a representative body for an unspecified time.

The KPC management termed putting re-registration into abeyance as “unfortunate” and said, “It has advertently stalled the election process for the new body that was set in motion”. The club has called a meeting of its management body as well as the Executive Committee members on Saturday (tomorrow).

Pakistan is committed to provide all out support to Afghan people to avert humanitarian crisis: Prime Minister

Islamabad, January 14, 2022 (PPI-OT): “Pakistan is committed to provide all out support to Afghan people to avert humanitarian crisis,” said Prime Minister Imran Khan while chairing 3rd meeting of the Apex Committee on Afghanistan. “We welcome United Nation’s (UN) appeal for aid to Afghanistan,” he added. The Apex Committee again expressed concerns over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and vowed that Pakistan will not abandon Afghans in their time of need.

It renewed its appeal to the international community and relief agencies to provide aid at this critical juncture to avert economic collapse and to save precious lives in Afghanistan. The Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to explore bilateral cooperation with friendly countries as well to stave off humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan by exporting qualified and trained manpower especially in medical, IT, Finance and accounting.

He also directed to extend cooperation in the fields of railways, minerals, pharmaceuticals and media to help in Afghanistan’s rehabilitation and development. Earlier the Apex Committee was updated on the progress made on relief of in-kind humanitarian assistance worth Rs. 5 billion which comprises of food commodities including 50,000 MT of wheat, emergency medical supplies, winter shelters and other supplies.

The Apex Committee was informed that Afghanistan is at the verge of hunger and crisis situation during this harsh winter. The crisis makes it difficult for the people to get enough food and shelter. The Committee resolved to stand together with Afghan people and urged relief agencies to take immediate action.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Information Minister Ch Fawad Hussain, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razzak Dawood, National Security Advisor Dr Moeed Yousaf, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa and senior civil and military officers.

Indian police arrest noted HR activist Ahsan Untoo in Srinagar

Srinagar, January 14, 2022 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian police arrested noted human rights activist and Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights JK (IFJHRJK), Mohammad Ahsan Untoo, in Srinagar, today. The police arrested Muhammad Ahsan Untoo on the false charges of spreading false propaganda, disinformation campaign and hate speech through social media platforms.

A police spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said Muhammad Ahsan Untoo is an active participant and speaker at Twitter spaces titled “Radio Resistance Kashmir” led by two known Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders, Muzammil Ayyub Thakur and Dr Asif Dar.

He said these leaders, who are accused in several cases along with Ahsan Untoo, are actively spreading hatred against India on the social media platform. The police spokesman said the activities by Ahsan Untoo “amount to commission of cognizable offence by him.” He said that the police registered a case against Untoo and arrested him.

Pakistan, China launch Air Cargo Service on Kashgar-Islamabad route

Islamabad, January 14, 2022 (PPI-OT): Pakistan and China have launched Air Cargo Service on Kashgar-Islamabad route with successful landing of Pakistan Faxon Airlines Air Cargo plane at Kashgar Airport in Xinjiang region of China. According to China Radio International, this is the second international cargo route from Kashgar Airport to Pakistan after Kashgar-Karachi cargo route in 2019.

As the main aviation fulcrum of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Kashgar Airport has opened international cargo routes, providing air traffic and service platforms for economic and trade development between Xinjiang, South Asia, West Asia and Europe. The construction of the International Transport Corridor and the International Aviation Center is of great importance to Xinjiang region.

Prime Minister directs for completion of welfare projects in stipulated time

Islamabad, January 14, 2022 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant on Political Affairs and Chief Whip in the National Assembly Malik Aamir Dogar called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today [Friday]. The yesterday’s session of the National Assembly and the legislation were discussed in the meeting. The Prime Minister thanked the members of the National Assembly from the PTI and the allied parties for support on important national affairs and passage of the Finance Supplementary Bill, and appreciated the efforts of Amir Dogar.

He also sought a report about the members’ participation in the session and their performance in legislation. Sungrow and KarmSolar Cooperate on the Microgrid BESS Project for Cairo 3A Group

CAIRO, Jan. 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Recently, Sungrow, the global leading inverter solution supplier for renewables, signed a new BESS contract with KarmSolar, Egyptian largest private sector solar energy provider. Sungrow will provide 2.576MWp PV inverter and 1MW/3.957 MWh energy storage system to build a microgrid for Cairo 3A Poultry Company. This microgrid, by its commission in May, 2022, will generate the energy resources needed by this large-scale company from solar power rather than relying on diesel generator and burning fossil fuels.
