Embassy of Pakistan, Washington D.C observes Kashmir Solidarity Day

Washington D.C, February 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):A special event to observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day was organized today in the Embassy of Pakistan, Washington, D.C., to express Pakistan’s support for the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination as envisaged in the UNSC Resolutions and in accordance with wishes of the Kashmiri people.

Messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, conveying unwavering support to Kashmiri people, were read out on the occasion. A special documentary featuring the history and significance of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and depicting the plight of Kashmiris in IIOJK at the hand of Indian occupation forces was also screened.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Asad M. Khan reiterated Government of Pakistan’s continued moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their struggle for right to self-determination against the worst form of repression unleased by the Indian security forces for several decades.

Ambassador highlighted that India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5th August 2019 were in contravention to its international obligations, commitments to the United Nations and bilateral agreements and understandings between the two countries.

Ambassador paid tribute to the bravery and resilience of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and said that Indian Forces did not allow his family to complete his last rituals which were in contravention to the basic Human Rights. He further said that closure of Kashmir Press Club and arrest of internationally renowned journalists underscore that the BJP government is looking for an excessive use of force to suppress the voices emanating from Kashmir.

He also drew attention to the grave peace and security threat posed by the Indian actions and called for the international community, particularly the US, to urge India to end its human rights violations in IIOJK and rescind illegal and unilateral actions taken on August 5, 2019.

Ambassador Khan lauded the role played by the Pakistani and Kashmiri American community in highlighting the gross human rights violations in IIOJK and stressed upon them to continue sensitizing the respective Congressman and members of civil society on this grave issue.

The Embassy also arranged a photo exhibition from 1st-5 Feb at the Consular Hall of the Embassy, highlighting the spate of Indian atrocities and massive human rights violations in the IIOJK. The event was live streamed on the official Facebook page of the Embassy.

Seven drug peddlers arrested; cache of drugs recovered

Islamabad, February 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Islamabad police have arrested seven drug-peddlers during its crackdown against the menace in the city, a police spokesman said. He said that, following directions of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas, a massive anti-drug campaign had been launched in the city to curb the menace.

Following these directions, a Koral police team raided at different locations and arrested accused identified as Waqas Ahmed and Ali Mardan and recovered 10 litres wine and one pistol from their possession. I-Area police team arrested two accused Saim Tariq and Hamza and recovered a wine bottle from their possession.

Shalimar police team arrested two drug peddlers namely Sher Wali and Fawad Ahmed and recovered 160 gram hashish and 10 litres wine from their possession. While Women police arrested a lady accused and recovered 110 gram heroin. Cases have been registered against the accused, investigation is underway.

IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated the police performance and further directed to intensify this crackdown in the whole city. “No one would be allowed to play with the precious lives of the citizens, ” he added. The IGP emphasized that citizens should also take part in this noble cause and inform any suspicious activity. “It’s our collective responsibility to curb this social evil from the city” the IGP informed.

Expansion of Interview Waiver Eligibility for Pakistani Visa Holders

Islamabad, February 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):The United States Mission to Pakistan is pleased to announce the expansion of interview waiver eligibility for Pakistani citizens renewing B1/B2 tourism and business visas at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi.

Pakistani citizens of ages 60 and older whose B1/B2 visas are valid or have expired within the last 48 months are eligible to participate. This procedural change will improve customer service and enable more efficient processing for renewals of tourism and business visas for qualified and eligible Pakistani citizens.

Potentially eligible applicants with scheduled appointments were contacted directly and informed of the option to submit their applications through this new procedure. Please note – as required by U.S. law, some eligible visa holders may still be required to appear at the U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate General for interviews after submission of their applications.

The people’s money is being spent only on the welfare of people now said Usman Buzdar. Politics is not meant for looting, plundering and corruption but to serve the people. He said that in the past politics was used to increase the bank balance. The menace of corruption pushed Pakistan backwards.

The present government under the leadership of PM Imran Khan has curbed the political culture of looting and plundering. Indiscriminate action has been taken against the influential Qabza Mafia in Punjab and valuable state land worth billions of rupees has got vacated.

The Chief Minister said that the Indian government is involved in the extrajudicial killing of innocent Kashmiris. Innocent Kashmiri youth are being brutally murdered on a daily basis. Usman Buzdar said that there was no justification for the international community to remain silent on Indian atrocities and terrorism.

He said that the nefarious designs of India to change the Muslim majority into a minority through genocide will be foiled. The night of tyranny of Modi Sarkar is about to end soon adding that the independence of Indian held Kashmir is not far away. He said that no one can isolate Kashmir from Pakistan as both are conjoined twins and the whole Pakistani nation is standing beside the oppressed Kashmiris. He said that India must understand that the legitimate struggle of Kashmiris for their right to self-determination cannot be suppressed at gunpoint.

The Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced to set up a state-of-the-art forensic lab for South Punjab in DG Khan

Lahore, February 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced to set up a state-of-the-art forensic lab for South Punjab in DG Khan for providing assistance to police, prosecution and judiciary. The Chief Minister said that modern equipment and trained staff of forensic lab provides incontestable facts.

The services of the Punjab Forensic Science Agency are not only recognized at the national but same are acknowledged at the international level as well. He said that government will provide resources for the early completion of the building of the Punjab Food, Drug and Agriculture Authority.

He further stated that staff from KPK, Sindh and Baluchistan will also be trained in the Forensic Sciences Training Lab. He lauded the performance of the Punjab Forensic Science Agency for solving all high-profile cases. He said that the Centre of Forensic Training Lab is a pride for the whole country. The state-of-the-art training lab constructed at a cost of Rs 1.90 billion has been made functional in Lahore, he concluded.

Lahore, February 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the concerned authorities to complete all ongoing health development projects of public welfare within the stipulated timeframe. The Chief Minister directed to ensure timely completion of health projects in DG Khan as well as other backward areas of the province.

Usman Buzdar said that he is personally monitoring the development projects of Public welfare. He said that Nishtar Hospital II in Multan would soon be opened for the public. Similarly, a state-of-the-art Mother and Child hospital is being established in DG Khan which will cost of Rs. 3.8 billion.

Emergency and OPD are being set up at a cost of Rs 3.84 billion in the Teaching Hospital. Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Barthi has been upgraded to 60 beds. Barthi DHQ Hospital will provide healthcare facilities to the people of Baluchistan as well. Taunsa Tehsil Headquarters Hospital has been upgraded to 190 beds. A Satellite Filter Clinic will be set up in Chah Zanbo Wala of Koh-e-Sulaiman for the convenience of the people. Usman Buzdar said that the people of three provinces will be benefited from the Sardar Fateh Muhammad Buzdar Institute of Cardiology.

The 200-bed Cardiology Institute will cost Rs 2 billion. He further stated that the first phase of the 100-bed of Cardiology Institute would be made functional in a few months. With the functioning of DG Khan Cardiology Institute, the pressure would be reduced in Multan and Lahore cardiology institutes.
