Yasmeen Raja condoles demise of Naheeda Nasreen’s mother-in-law

Srinagar, February 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader, Yasmeen Raja visited the house of illegally detained Dukhtaran-e-Millat General Secretary Naheeda Nasreen in Pampore area of Pulwama district and condoled the demise of her mother in law who passed away few days ago.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Yasmeen Raja on the occasion paid rich tributes to the mother-in-law of Naheeda Nasreen and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. She also demanded release of illegally detained Naheeda Nasreen and all other political detainees, including Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth, languishing in different jails of IIOJK and India.

Meanwhile, APHC-AJK leader, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, in a statement issued in Islamabad strongly condemned the stepped up Indian state terrorism in IIOJK including raids by notorious National Investigation Agency (NIA) and arrests of unarmed civilians under false cases. He appealed to the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of Indian brutalities in the occupied territory.

Prime Minister visit to Moscow will strengthen Pak, Russia relations: Fawad 

Islamabad, February 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Moscow will be a game changer and it will strengthen Pakistan’s relations with Russia. Talking to media in Pind Dadan Khan today (Saturday), he said Imran Khan’s voice is powerful and his opinion on Islamophobia and region is heard worldwide.

Talking about opposition move for no-trust, he said opposition could not even prove its majority in Senate. He said no-trust move will face the failure. Responding to a question on local bodies elections in Jhelum, he expressed hope that PTI will clean sweep in the coming local bodies elections.

Pakistan, Belgium agree to enhance military ties

Islamabad, February 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan and Belgium have agreed to further optimize military-to-military ties particularly in defence production, training, counter-terrorism and intelligence domains. An agreement to this effect reached during a meeting between Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Belgium Minister of Defence Ludivine Dedonder, Chief of Defence Admiral Michel Hofman, and Chief of Staff of the Land Component Major General Pierre Gerard in Belgium.

According to ISPR, the Army Chief said Pakistan values its bilateral relations with Belgium in all domains. During the meetings, bilateral matters pertaining to mutual interest and overall regional security situation came under discussion. In their remarks, Belgian dignitaries appreciated professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces and Islamabad’s sincere efforts for regional peace and stability. They also reiterated earnest desire for enhancing bilateral cooperation with Pakistan in all domains.

NAB’s awareness strategy appreciated by leading organizations: Javed Iqbal 

Islamabad, February 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman National Accountability Bureau Javed Iqbal says NAB’s people awareness strategy about ill effects of corruption has been appreciated by the World Economic Forum and other reputed leading national and international organizations.

Chairing a meeting to review awareness policy of NAB, he said Transparency International Pakistan, Global Peace Canada, PILDAT and Mishal Pakistan have appreciated NAB’s efforts for eradication of corruption. He said as per Gallup and Gilani recent survey, 59 percent people have shown confidence on NAB. Under NAB’s Awareness and Prevention Strategy, NAB has been engaging different Governmental, Non-Governmental Organizations, media, civil society and other segments of society.

Industrial sector development vital for country’s economic progress: Prime Minister

Islamabad, February 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government is taking steps on priority basis for industrial development. Chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad, he said industrial development is imperative for overall economic development. He said that regardless of Covid-19, industries remained operational because of successful policies of the government.

The Prime Minister directed to take steps on priority basis to encourage investment in the industrial sector. The meeting was informed share of manufacturing sector in the GDP is 12.79 percent and the government is focussing to enhance it to twenty five percent. The meeting was informed that a comprehensive strategy has been prepared to revive sick units and woo investment in the Information Technology.

President calls for raising awareness about implications of rapid population growth 

Islamabad, February 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):President Arif Alvi has called for a broad based campaign at the national level to raise awareness amongst people about implications of rapid population growth on the socio economic development of the country. In an interaction with senior journalists in Islamabad, he stressed the media to play its important role in shaping public opinion and behaviours regarding family planning.

The President also emphasized the need for political will with an active input by the parliamentarians to lead a mass movement of advocacy on population management. In his remarks, Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Faisal Sultan said unplanned population growth can become an issue of national security, where the future generation grows in absence of proper education and health facilities. He said the government is sensitizing the masses at all levels involving political leaders, academia, executive, ulema, civil society and youth.

Airport Security Force salaries to be increased by 15%: Rashid 

Islamabad, February 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed says that the government has decided to raise the salaries of Airport Security Force personnel by 15 percent like other civil armed forces. In a statement, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan has given his approval in this regard.

The ASF employees would get the increase in their salary with effect from March 1. The Interior Minister said the Prime Minister has approved 15 per cent increase in the salaries of the civil armed forces last week. Sheikh Rashid said the government has already announced 15 per cent disparity allowance for the federal government employees from grade 1-19.

Govt launches various welfare schemes to benefit poor people: Shibli 

Islamabad, February 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz says the PTI led government has launched various welfare schemes to benefit poor people. In an interview, he said the government has successfully passed several bills presented before the National Assembly. He said the coalition partners are supporting the ruling party and there is no rift among the party members.

Shibli Faraz said Pakistan Muslim League-N and Pakistan People’s Party have lost popularity among the masses. He said the opposition has failed in long march and no-confidence motion. He said the opposition party leaders are appearing on television channels to keep them alive on TV screen. Commenting on preparation of next elections, he said that we will have to start campaign to win the next general elections on basis of performance.
